KUCCPS shares new instructions for students who missed university placement applications

Thousands of students who failed to submit their university applications on time have been given another opportunity to seek placement after KUCCPS outlined how they can still be considered before the final allocations are announced.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has offered hope to students who missed the official university application window, confirming they can still request consideration for placement before the final list is released.

In a notice issued to students, the placement agency said those who did not apply within the set timeline can submit a formal request asking to be treated as late applicants.

Students have been instructed to send an email to info@kuccps.ac.ke, clearly stating that they wish to be considered for late placement.

The agency also asked applicants to provide important personal and academic details to help process their requests. These include their KCSE index number, the year they sat the KCSE examination, their full name, phone number and email address.

“Send an email to info@kuccps.ac.ke requesting to be considered as a late applicant. Please include your KCSE index number, year of KCSE exam, name, phone number and email address,” KUCCPS stated.

KUCCPS, however, cautioned that submitting the request does not automatically guarantee placement, as every application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The update comes as the agency prepares to announce the final placement results for candidates who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

According to KUCCPS, the final placement list is expected to be released during the first week of July 2026. Students will then find out the universities and courses they have been allocated ahead of admissions scheduled for September.

Those dissatisfied with either the course or institution assigned to them will also be allowed to apply for transfers once KUCCPS opens the transfer process and releases the relevant guidelines.

A total of 268,714 candidates attained a mean grade of C+ and above in the 2025 KCSE examinations, making them eligible for university placement.

Earlier, KUCCPS revealed that more than 56,000 eligible candidates had not submitted placement applications by the May 16 deadline, prompting the agency to open a second application window, which has since closed.
