Botched Robbery in Majengo Ends in Gunfire
In a separate incident, a suspected thug was shot and injured in a confrontation with police following a failed robbery attempt in the Majengo slums on Monday evening.
Police reports indicate that two suspects had posed as customers at a local hotel before one of them brandished a pistol and demanded the day’s earnings. The hotel owner managed to slip away unnoticed and alerted a nearby police patrol team.
Upon arrival, officers engaged the suspects in a chase, leading to an exchange of gunfire. One suspect was shot and injured but managed to escape, leaving behind a homemade gun and a kitchen knife.
