Tragedy in Juja: Two JKUAT Students Drown at Popular Dam
Juja, Kiambu – A fun day out turned tragic after two students from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) drowned at a popular dam in Juja, Kiambu County. Police have since launched investigations into the heartbreaking incident, which occurred on Sunday, March 2.
According to preliminary reports, the two students, aged 21 and 22, had gone for a weekend outing at a well-known ‘park and chill’ spot off Thika Road in the Mugutha area. However, what was meant to be a relaxing day ended in sorrow as the two reportedly drowned under unclear circumstances.
Bodies Retrieved by Kiambu County Divers
Authorities confirmed that a rescue operation was quickly launched after the tragic incident was reported. Kiambu County divers managed to retrieve the bodies from the dam, after which they were moved to the General Kago Funeral Home for postmortem examination.
Police are now working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the drowning, as questions remain about how the incident unfolded.
