Nyamira Nightmare: Pastor Caught Defiling a 14-year-old Inside Church
In a deeply disturbing incident that has left Nyamira County residents outraged, a pastor was detained after allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl inside a church in Ikonge. The shocking events unfolded on the evening of April 20, 2025, when a concerned citizen alerted authorities about suspicious activity at the church premises.
Upon arrival, officers found the church locked from the inside, with lights turned off. Attempts to contact the pastor, aged 42, were futile as his phone was switched off. In a dramatic turn, the pastor’s wife was called to assist. She was visibly shaken upon spotting keys inside the church through a window. A member of the public retrieved the keys using a staff, leading to the pastor unlocking the doors and pleading for forgiveness.
Inside the church, officers discovered a pair of shoes believed to belong to a young girl. A search of a makeshift kitchen revealed the girl hidden inside a 310-litre drum. Witnesses reported that the Grade 8 pupil appeared distressed, and her clothing suggested possible abuse. The girl was reportedly under the care of the church.
The case was recorded under OB number 04/20/04/2025 at Ikonge Police Patrol Base, and both the pastor and the girl were taken to the station for further investigation. Residents have condemned the incident, demanding swift justice and accountability.
This incident has sparked widespread calls for stricter measures to protect vulnerable children and ensure that places of worship remain safe havens. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspect is expected to face charges.
