New Jersey Woman Accused of Using Tinder to Hire Hitman to Kill Ex-Boyfriend and His Daughter

New Jersey, USA – A 26-year-old woman from Runnemede, New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to hire a hitman she met on the dating app Tinder to kill her ex-boyfriend—a 57-year-old Philadelphia police officer—and his 19-year-old daughter.

According to court documents obtained from Camden County, Jaclyn Diiorio is accused of arranging a murder-for-hire plot through a confidential informant posing as a hitman. The informant, who connected with Diiorio on Tinder, provided evidence including text messages, phone call recordings, and an in-person meeting with the suspect.

Authorities say Diiorio agreed to pay $12,000 for the killings and had already handed over $500 in cash when she was taken into custody in Gloucester Township, just outside Philadelphia.

During her arrest, Diiorio was reportedly carrying a bottle of pills with the label removed. Investigators believe the pills were alprazolam, a prescription drug commonly used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. Possession of the controlled substance without a prescription resulted in an additional charge.

Diiorio now faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree attempted murder, one count of conspiracy to commit murder, and third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

At a court hearing on Friday, prosecutors revealed that this was not the first time Diiorio had tried to arrange the killings. She allegedly made a prior attempt to contract the murders, which raised concerns about the safety of the victims and led the judge to deny her bail.

Judge Yolanda Rodriguez ruled that Diiorio will remain in custody until her next court appearance, scheduled for June 11.

As of this report, Diiorio’s legal team has not issued a public statement.

The chilling case has shocked residents in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, raising concerns over how dating apps might be exploited for criminal activity. The investigation remains ongoing.
