Khalif Kairo Pleads With Kenyans to Help Raise Bail: “Tuma Kidogo Uko Nayo”

Embattled car dealer and influencer Khalif Kairo is calling on Kenyans for financial support as he struggles to raise bail in an ongoing court case. Kairo, whose real name is Joseph Wambui, has been in remand for the past week after failing to raise the required KSh 2 million bail.

Through the help of comedian and content creator 2Mbili, Kairo has now made it possible for supporters to send in contributions via a paybill number. 2Mbili, who met Kairo at the Kibera Law Courts on Thursday, April 3, shared the details on Instagram, encouraging fans to help where they can.

“If you can send something small, please do. If you can’t or choose not to, that’s okay too. We respect everyone’s decision,” said 2Mbili in a video update. While he could not share court footage of Kairo, he confirmed that the influencer appeared in good physical and mental health.

“He was calm, strong, and grateful to everyone who’s thinking about him. He told me, ‘Please tell them thank you. Every shilling counts. Tuma kidogo uko nayo,’” 2Mbili added.

2Mbili emphasized that the only thing standing between Kairo and his freedom was the bail amount, and that any amount sent would help move things forward. “We’re almost there. Let’s not let him down now,” he urged.

The video also displayed the paybill and account number for those willing to contribute, giving Kenyans a chance to help one of their own during a difficult time.

One supporter commented online, “Whether you love him or hate him, no one deserves to rot in jail if they can be helped. Let’s come through for Kairo.”

As of now, Kairo remains in remand as efforts continue to secure his release. The case has sparked widespread debate online, with fans and critics weighing in on his legal troubles and public appeal for help.

Kairo’s legal team has yet to issue a formal statement on the nature of the charges he faces, but public interest in the case remains high, especially within the online community where he commands a significant following.
