Form Four Student Flees After Fatally Stabbing Uncle Over Food Dispute
A family in Katho Sub-Location is grappling with deep sorrow after a domestic altercation turned deadly, leaving a 41-year-old man dead and a 19-year-old student on the run.
According to local authorities, the shocking incident occurred after a disagreement over maize flour escalated into violence. Witnesses report that the deceased, allegedly intoxicated at the time, arrived home and began harassing his elderly mother, prompting his teenage niece—a high school senior—to intervene.
The confrontation quickly spiraled out of control when the man attempted to take maize flour from the elderly woman’s home. In a moment of rage, the student, determined to stop him, reportedly stabbed her uncle in the chest. The fatal wound caused him to collapse, bleeding profusely. Despite efforts to assist him, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
As panic set in, the teenager fled the scene and has remained unaccounted for since the tragic event. Authorities have launched an active manhunt to locate her.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to Ahero Sub-County Hospital morgue as investigations continue. Law enforcement officials urge anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward.
