Adani Energy Solutions Wins Ksh.42 Billion Transmission Project in India
India’s Adani Energy Solutions (ADAI.NS), the power transmission arm of billionaire Gautam Adani’s Adani Group, has secured a Ksh.42 billion ($325 million) project in Gujarat. The company announced the win on Friday, stating that the project will develop a power transmission system for a green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing unit in Mundra, Gujarat.
Boosting India’s Green Hydrogen Ambitions
The transmission project is set for completion within three years and will play a crucial role in India’s ambition to produce 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030. To meet this target, the country will require an estimated 125 gigawatts of renewable energy.
India is also pushing for at least 500 GW of non-fossil power capacity by 2030, a significant increase from its current 165 GW. However, progress has been hampered by a lack of adequate power transmission infrastructure, causing delays and even cancellations of renewable energy projects.
Adani’s Growing Orderbook
Adani Energy Solutions continues to expand its portfolio, with its total order book now standing at 575.61 billion rupees. The latest project in Gujarat underscores the company’s key role in India’s renewable energy transition and infrastructure development.
As the country works toward its clean energy goals, projects like these will be vital in ensuring reliable transmission networks to support large-scale green hydrogen production and other renewable energy initiatives.
