Missing Man Found Dead at Talanta City Stadium Construction Site

Detectives in Nairobi have launched investigations after the body of a man who had been missing for more than a week was discovered at the Talanta City Stadium construction site in Jamhuri.

The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Sammy Kyengo, was reported missing on 6 September 2025. His body was recovered on 13 September in a water sump behind the under-construction terraces. Police said the remains had been concealed with boards in an apparent attempt to hide them.

Casual workers made the discovery while clearing materials in preparation for plastering. According to police, Kyengo’s body bore injuries to the back of the head and the right side of the neck, with blood visible from the nose and mouth—indications of possible foul play.

The grim incident forced project managers to suspend work on Saturday to allow detectives to secure the scene and gather evidence.

Kyengo’s family, who had been searching hospitals, police stations and mortuaries since his disappearance, were devastated by the confirmation of his death. Fellow workers at the site said they last saw him on the day he vanished, but could not confirm whether he left the premises.

The body has since been moved to the mortuary for a post-mortem as investigators work to establish the motive and identify suspects.

Meanwhile, in Naiberi, Uasin Gishu County, police arrested a man accused of killing his daughter following a domestic altercation in the Huruma area. The girl suffered severe head injuries and later died while receiving treatment at a hospital.

Police confirmed the suspect is in custody and will face murder charges over the 13 September incident.
